Breakthrough in Angiogenesis: Small Mobile Stem Cells Drive Large Vessel Formation
Small Mobile Stem (SMS) cells are transforming regenerative medicine by promoting advanced vascular growth. Presented at the International Conference on Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine & 2nd World Congress on Pediatrics and Child Care (Tokyo, Japan, November 2019), this research highlights how SMS cells secrete proteins that guide human endothelial cells to develop both micro and macro vessels. Remarkably, their extracellular matrix alone orchestrates tissue organization, producing stable, visible vessels. This platform allows researchers to study angiogenesis at advanced stages, providing new opportunities for testing pro- and anti-angiogenic factors and advancing regenerative therapies.
