SMSbiotech Announces Successful Presentation of Small Mobile Stem Cell Regenerative Mechanism in Human COPD Patients at ERS LSC 2025

SMSbiotech is pleased to announce that its pioneering research on the Small Mobile Stem Cell (SMS Cell) platform and its unique regenerative mechanism was successfully presented at the European Respiratory Society Lung Science Conference 2025 (ERS LSC 2025), held in Estoril, Portugal.

Dr. Abdulkader Rahmo, Chief Scientific Officer at SMSbiotech, presented new clinical insights from the first-in-human evaluation of SMS Cells in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients. This marks a major milestone for SMSbiotech, highlighting how this naturally circulating, highly potent adult stem cell population may introduce a new paradigm for lung tissue regeneration.

The abstract, titled “Small Mobile Stem Cells: A Novel Regenerative Mechanism Being Evaluated in Human COPD Patients,” is published by the European Respiratory Society.

This international scientific recognition reinforces the growing interest in SMSbiotech’s technology and the potential of SMS Cells to address critical unmet needs in severe respiratory disease.

We will continue to provide updates as our clinical program advances and as we expand collaborations with leading experts in regenerative medicine and respiratory care.
